Day 01: Arrive in Cochin

Day 02: Cochin – Alleppey by road (70 Kms. / 01.3 hrs. drive approx)

Day 01 – Colombo Airport – Negombo

Day 01: Arrival at Cochin

Ernakulathappan Uthsavom

Destination – Shiva Temple in Ernakulam, Kochi, Kerala
Date – January 15-22, 2016.

Ernakulathappan Uthsavam starts with hoisting of temple flag (Kodiyettam) on the first day evening; while on the seventh day there is Pakalppram, when deity is being taken out in procession with caparisoned elephants with Panchavadyam and later terminating at Durbar Hall ground after the famous Pandimelam and colorful fireworks. Different dance forms are performed by dancers to promote temple art. Not to mention classical music concerts and Bhajans. It is celebrated at Shiva Temple in Ernakulam, Kochi in Kerala where thousands of devotees gather to witness the grand festival. The grand festival is organized during the months of January – February for eight days.

Masimagam Festival

Date – February 22, 2016.
Destination – Pondicherry
Masi Magam Festival is annual festival organized between the months of February and March on the full moon day (in the Tamil Month of Masi). During the festival, deities from neighboring temples are brought around Karaikal and many devotees come to take holy dip in the sea to cleanse all the sins. The most important and significant deity is Sowriraja Perumal of Thirukannapurgm. On the day of Masi Magam, temple idols are taken to sea shore, pond and lake for ceremonial bath in a procession. The grand festival is also organized in Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.

Banashankari Devi Fair

Date – January 6 – 12, 2017
Destination – Badami, Karnataka
Banashankari Devi Fair, organized in the month of January (Hindu Month of Pushya) at Badami in Karnataka, is centered on the renowned Banashankari Devi Temple near Badami. This 10 to 12 days long festival starts on the full moon day, in which Rathostava or Car festival is the main attraction.
